Blog Break

First things first - The blog break is with apologies to poor little Keagan.  I swear Snappy will come see you soon and I will blog and blog about you.  BUT, the past week went like this:
1.An event for 1,100 on Saturday with brand new event planner meant major work for the last two weeks.  My staff began to just think it was normal to get 2 am emails! Home on Saturday by 1 am.

2. Keagan begins his arrival at 9:30 am on Sunday.  What a way to wake up after a late night!  Papa helps with the twins during the day and then takes C for dinner, bath and spend the night.  Snappy stays at the hospital until after the wonderful birth.  Sleep at the usual 2 am.

3. Monday - stop by the office to drop off the hundreds of thousands of dollars that came home on Saturday night because it was frankly TOO LATE to go take it to the safe at work.  Good thing our house did not burn down.  Then we were off to take C to breakfast and up to the hospital.  The rest of the afternoon was spent making "Welcome Home" banner etc while also having Elizabeth and boys at the house for the afternoon. Then it was off to the Humms to spend the night over there with C who was just ready to be at his own "home" even if his mom and dad were not there.  Papa went home to sleep but Snappy had a fitful night of sleep but the great thing is that C was happy and slept great!

4. Tuesday up at 7 to have a shower before the arrival of the twins at 7:30 - it is Snappy's usual tuesday but this time it is at the Humm house with C joining the group.  Let's just say by the time Keagan arrived at home, Snappy was a mess of smashed bananas, milk and snot (the twins have colds again.)  I changed clothes before holding Keagan. But my snuggles could not last long because it was then off to work for Snappy where the aforementioned new event planner has now not shown up for two days because her father has been put on Hospice.  Oh my.  Stayed at work until 10 pm to try to help the database manager who is on the edge.  Lots of work to get $770,000 in donations entered correctly, assigned to the correct tables and calculate all the various matching funds.  This is really taxing my brain with little sleep.

5. Wednesday - Papa is up to do twin care.  Snappy heads for a long, long day of work (it is actually still going as we speak but I decided to take a break because I am about to "Snap"  Aforementioned database manager is now in tears in my office.  The printer is irritated because we are not meeting deadlines for a major mail campaign that is due.  There is a Board meeting tonight and everyone wants reports on the event which we still don't have.  Home by 8:30 to a glass of wine and then to begin working remotely.

6.  So despite no time, my camera is in full use at the Humm household.  I have told Emily the same thing that Elizabeth has heard when she has stolen my camera - the deal is: you can use my camera but all pics could show up on the blog; it would be most helpful if you would just post to the blog yourself (thanks ET for all the times you do this) and if you post to Facebook, you really should tag Snappy since it IS my camera.  Maybe we will see a post from Emily soon but until then...send prayers for Snappy- she needs them.
