Sugar Pink Rose

Monday, May 26, 2014
I just happened to have these on my table - pink peonies my all time favorite flower.
And walked outside to find this....ET reading Sugar Pink Rose to G.
Sugar Pink Rose is a book given to to Snappy from Kate on my birthday in 1977.  Little girl elephants were supposed to eat only peonies and anemones to keep their skin smooth and pink.  They had to stay in their enclosure and play among the flowers while their brothers got to play in the savanna, roll in the mud and eat green grass.  Annabelle tried and tried but she stayed grey much to the disappointment of her parents. Finally she threw off her booties and collar and pretty pink bow and went out to play among the tall grass and mud puddles.
Finally, all the girl elephants followed Annabelle and since that day when watching children of this tribe play, it can be quite difficult  to tell which of the elephants are little girls and which are little boys.

Happy B'Day

Finally after a delicious dinner it was time to sing Happy Birthday.

And there is never a shortage of people in your lap to blow out the candle.

A bucket of red vines?  Whose birthday is this?  Looks like everyone else is happy with this gift and not just Emily.
I think Griffin wanted to go home with Emmy in the basket they gave her.
Happy Birthday Emily -
we love you!

Bartender School

Snappy has this little cocktail shaker and four tiny silver goblets that are one of the favorite things of every little kid.  Keagan actually got to make a lemonade "cocktail" and he knew just what to do.  Shake...
 Pour...

 And drink!
Papa says with his looks and his style he could probably make a lot of money at this.

On the Move

On the move...almost.

 Snappy loves that chubby belly.

Killing Time

This is what killing time waiting for a party to start looks like.
Boys find water shooters but fortunately did not find any water.
C REFUSED to get dressed and he and Snappy had a major power struggle that ended when Snappy got her way and C put on his undies and C got his way and he did not put on his clothes but put on a knight costume instead.
Looks like there was some hide and seek going on.
Charlotte showed up with her Memorial Day red, white and blue.

This girl is definitely getting her chubby cheeks but still not much hair.

K was decked out for Memorial Day too.
And he worked so hard to pull G in the wagon.
 Till he gave up...
 And climbed in.
Meanwhile CA decided to show what a big girl she is getting to be.
And I don't know what is going on here but they sort of look like they were looking to see if anyone was watching.
 And then there was this.
But no one told what they were looking at or for.
There is a lot going on while we are just killing time.

Ready for A Happy Birthday

Sunday, May 25, 2014
H, G and ET were all staying at Casa de Snappy y Papa and C & K did not really think that was fair.  So Sunday meant Snappy needed to go get them to come join the fun and get ready for a birthday party.  They picked out pretty butterfly birthday supplies and while they all napped we big people started getting ready.  Papa had ribs and pork shoulder on the smoker, Elizabeth started decorating and together we made strawberry shortcake, strawberry spinach salad, roasted asparagus, baked beans and more strawberry icecream.
The White boys woke up from naps first and I couldn't resist this tether ball playing in their undies.

Now if their daddy and the rest of the Humms would just get here.

Boys, Dirt, Tractors

When the picking was done, the boys found the next best things at Hoffman Farms.

A pretty cute tractor make of plywood.
A giant sand pile caught the attention of these two.

And the best was a play structure made out of a combine.

Surely Connie and Greg can make this for Price.

Boys, tractors and dirt - a perfect match.
