A chick magnet!

I am in CA missing this little duck...I mean chicken but it was sure fun playing with Cameron and Kali today.  We watched the planes at the airport, went to dinner, read books, played war (Kali won) and sang lots of songs.  Cam is amazing speaking spanish - so cool!  Kali says I am her GREAT GREAT great aunt.  Ok so she meant I am really old but maybe she also thought I was really fun.

This chicken pic was a text as Emily and Connor headed to his first Halloween party - I hear he might have a girlfriend dressed as Baby Gaga.

Last Sleepover

Last night with our house guests before Michael comes home tomorrow...it was such fun having Connor and Emily around every evening!  Connor loves the toys at Snappy's house but this old baby was the hit of the evening.  She just did not smell like his friends at playgroup.

Monday, Monday - So Good To Me

Could this day get any better?  This funny boy was smiling good bye from the living room floor as I left for work....

Home from work to find Connor upstairs with Pop and Emily cooking dinner.  After dinner it was time for a bath...

Then it was snuggle time in front of the fire...

Lots of sitting up practice...

And finally story time before bed....

And to top it all off, the cleaning ladies came today!  Monday, Monday...I'll take ya' anyday.

Sunday Sleepover

Guess who is sleeping over at Snappy and Pappa's tonight!?  Michael is in Bend (hopefully not stuck in the snow) so we have a couple of special guests tonight!

A Granny Hoagland Tradition

My mom loved wind-up toys.  She bought several for Elizabeth before she was born.  One was around forever - a little penguin that swam in the tub, so when I saw this wind up bathtub toy the other day I just had to buy it in memory of Granny Hoagland.  Scuba Steve is a new favorite pastime.

I'll never tell

So was there really a scheduling snafu this morning or was it just a test to see if Papa really knew how to babysit?  I'll never tell.

Working Man

Who wants to go to work?  Connor does!  He stopped by to see Papa today.  I think he really just wanted to see one of our favorite blog readers, Pam, in person.  We are so happy to actually have Pam and Martin make an appearance on Snappy stories!

The lay-down low-down

Connor hit four months and his hair laid down!  What is up with that?

Saturday Snap

Snappy snagged Connor to go run some errands and give E & M some chore time.  We headed to see our dear friend Jean who has become the Christmas stocking hero of the family.  Our Aunt Betty started making stockings in 1947 with Kate.  She made them for all five of my siblings, then all of our spouses, then our children before she passed away.  Both Emily and Elizabeth married men who have the exact same knitted stocking...how weird is that!?!  We have wished for years to find someone who could make them for the next generation and Jean was sent from Heaven.  She is the best and truly has prayed for each member of the family as she has stitched stockings for Jonny, McCaslin, Callaghan, Sloan, Vanessa, Cameron, Kali, Angie and now Connor!  Thank you from the bottom of our heart Jean.

Connor loved his Snappy outing but he was happy to be back home with mom!

Notice how the hair is falling out or at least starting to lay down...we don't think we really like it.  That punky hair was all Connor!

Growing Like a Weed

No new pics of C in the last couple of days so I decided to put up a few of my favorites from Phil and Angie's wedding.  These were six weeks ago so he has really changed.  Today was Connor's four month check up.  Gaining weight, very long for his age, starting to show early signs of teeting, rolls over both ways, ready to start eating beginning with yellow vegetables.  Sweet potatoes, carrots, squash.  YUMM!!  Dr. Endo says get ready for an early walker and very active little boy.  Let the baby proofing begin!

He has never quit holding those hands together...

Happy Snappy

Happy Snappy!  I was so happy to spend the day with my favorite guy.  It started when I picked up Connor at 8:30 this morning and took him to my office.  This was the first time I have gotten to take C off without his Mom....the view below in my rearview mirror was great and I fell right back into singing all the same songs from 29 years ago!  Miss Callaghan, we have changed your song...it is now "my name is Connor-man"  We are still working on who has to be the dope since Connor has no big brother. ;)

By 11:00 C was sound asleep in the car and we were headed back to meet Emily.  Lunch, a bit of shopping and just hanging out was such a relaxing and wonderful day.

Then it was a great meal at the House of Humm courtesy of the fabulous White and Humm chefs...we left Connor changing into his jammies.  Definitely the best Birthday present ever.  One happy Snappy!

One Little Monkey...

Don't tell Connor, there are really three little monkeys!  This was such a great gift.  There are three little super soft monkey "lovies."  The idea is that you can keep one in the car, one in the diaper bag, one in the wash, or left behind at Snappy's.  If you lose one, there is no need for panic, there are actually three little monkeys.  Well, so far the monkey is one of Connor's FAVORITE things.  And there are always two more waiting, just in case..

These pictures were on the way to celebrate Braden's golden birthday - she is 10 on 10/10/10 - how cool is that?! And we are so glad she is in OR to celebrate!

Shopping Friday

Just trying to get prepared for Snappy Fridays starting in November when Emily goes back to work!  So today we did a bit of shopping...

Chatting...

And showing off our toes...

TV Trance

Today I discovered some pictures that somehow got stored on the internal memory of my camera.  This was Connor and Fred watching the Simpsons on the plane - a definite TV trance.  Thus the no TV rule which is hard for Pop to deal with!

Look out Hugh

This picture was my cute text message from Em for the day.  Hugh Heffner likely never looked as laid back as this bathrobe clad little man....

hmm...he appears to be a breast man so far too!

Cozy Connor

The weather is really starting to change now...this cozy looking boy came for dinner to night.

Chewing on the facts...

Yep, another Sunday night....which means Monday morning tomorrow.  We would all much rather hang out watching C chew on his toys.

Fred's Redneck Strolling

So if it wasn't redneck enough that we let Connor play with a Frito bag, this came next...Emily and I took C for a walk in what will likely be the last time in the buggy as he is almost too big.  He quickly fell asleep...

But only as long as he kept moving.  We were getting old baby toys out of the attic and Fred was getting the car ready to head to the game tomorrow.  This was Fred's solution.  God forbid he actually just go walk him!
Press play to watch video...

Friday Surprise!

Fred got home from Colorado last night and I was happily surprised to come home at lunch to find these two had been hanging out with Pop!  I had all sorts of errands and tasks to do but threw it all out the window to hang with C for the day.

Who needs toys when you can have a chip bag?!

But that did not stop us from getting down a bunch of toys from the attic.  I have saved this stuff for almost 30 years....I told you we would use it again someday, Fred!
