The End of an Era

Elizabeth and Dustin have decided that it is time for her to quit working on building buildings and spend her time building two little men.  H and G will be HAPPY to have mama home full time starting next week. Monday was Snappy's last day of official twin care.  Now Papa and Snappy can get their 40+ hour work weeks spread back out to a more manageable time frame which is one positive.  The negatives however mean a lot less pictures, far fewer posts on Snappy's blog and worse than that - no more morning greetings of yogurt faced boys announcing things like "I got a star for sleeping in my bed, Snappy." or "I have on bug pajamas."
I can't help but be sad about that because while I know that we will still see these boys quite a bit, it will be in the chaos of the crowd and not the same as really being "in charge." The kind of in charge that means we can go out for ice cream in the middle of the morning to celebrate!

Or have an impromptu parade around Snappy and Papa's neighborhood.
or have a bit of lunch in the backyard.

It is so hard to believe we have gone so far so quickly.
It has been a privilege to spend a morning with you each week, H and G.  I love you more than you can ever imagine.

LGP Slushpuppies

It's not summer around here unless we have some time at the LGP.  Have to pay tribute to all those years Emily and Elizabeth spent as lifeguards here summer after summer.

And a trip to the Lake Grove Swimpark is just not complete with out a Slushpuppie.  The boys were happy to start this family tradition.

C was too busy swimming...wait, aren't you supposed to wait 30 minutes?  Where is that lifeguard?

I've Got The Blues

There are NEVER enough Blues for this crowd.  First Snappy helped the Humms pick (Emily's camera has those pics - post some Emily!) and then next day Snappy headed off to help the White's.

While the picking was easy, these two would rather just eat right off the bush!  Good thing this was a "No Spray" kind of farm.

And when you have a belly and a bucket filled with blueberries, you also have stained fingers and lips so the day has to end with a bath at Snappy's.

Here's to frozen blueberries for pancakes, muffins, pies and more all year!

Bye Bye Beach Fun

The beach was so much fun - a fabulous 4th, a PERFECT two year old birthday - thanks H & G for bringing us all along.

Bye Bye Beach....until next time.

Pirate Jewels

Lots of Jake and the Neverland Pirates stories in that treasure box but the best thing?
The best thing was the pirate jewels.  K had never had candy like this and you could NOT take it away.

And G, the binky boy, knew exactly what to do.

Pirates Booty

Those Pirates started at the gate....
We were ready to fight them if necessary.
Around the fire pit.  Go Long John Griffy!

Over here!  Good map reading C!
 X marks the spot.

  We have our shovels ready.
Not sure this is how you wear that eye patch.
 Dig, Dig, Dig....

 Aha!  We have struck something.

 Pirates Booty!

A Memory to Treasure

What's This?  A Treasure Map?

Uncle Michael started the story and Dustin chimed in.  Apparently, during nap these two heros fought the Pirates off our beach.  Those swashbucklers were tricky and they made it back to their ship but, ahoy!  They dropped their treasure map.

C has studied it and he thinks he knows where to start.

Let's go on a treasure hunt!
