Construction Crew

Papa cut down a tree branch and needed some help cutting it up.  Aunt Toni sent the construction crew outfits that were just perfect!  (thank you Toni, I promise to get a pic of all four lined up in these soon)

I especially loved Griffin in his smocked outfit and cute sandals with his construction vest.
Keagan's barbecue was definitely a work zone.

K?  He just watches and learns.  Clearly he knows how to work the hammer.

And little H?  He was busy picking strawberries - the crew needs refreshments you know.
Just another Saturday afternoon at Papa and Snappy's house.

Practice is our Mantra

You know how many times we practiced for egg hunting?  Well with all these little men we have lots of practice  - how to hit the ball, put your napkin on your lap and now how to get ready for the Fourth of July and FIREWORKS!

We practice sitting patiently.
We practice clapping when we they are finished.
We practice lining them up to help Papa.
The big boy shows the little boys all about the fuses.

C rubs his belly button when he is tired and I just couldn't resist these because they show it was at the end of a long day.  Everyone had been bathed and put in jammies before the show.
He was outwardly super excited to get to fireworks and I don't think he even realized how tired he was but the belly proves it.
And G?  He just wanted to go inside.  UH-OH - he is maybe not going to like this holiday.  At least not like he liked Easter candy.
So he watched from the door with his daddy.

PS - this was trick photography.  It was not dark at all since it does not get dark around here until about 10 pm but the boys did not seem to care that we were shooting off fireworks in broad daylight!

Practice, practice, practice...it makes perfect and this night was just perfect.

How Long Has He Waited?

Do you think he has waited long enough to have batting practice on Father's Day?

Ball's in place.
 Practice the swing.
 Smile for the camera.

 "Hey wait!  What about me?"

Cookout Means Smores

Some purists just wanted to eat their marshmallow off the stick without cooking it.
But we showed him it really was good.
G was the only one who actually ate it!
 K tried it and then...
He just needed MILK ( I know just how he felt)
Finally it was baths, pjs and bedtime stories. Then the Humms headed home and the Whites headed inside for bed.
A perfect campout - although poor C spent the next 48 hours sick.  Those campouts are dangerous!

Princess Leia

Just couldn't resist this cute Princess Leia shot.

Camping Means Cookout

To make this campout even better there was a COOKOUT too.
D had some great instructions from G about building the fire.
Bamboo sticks were cut down from the side yard and hot dogs were ready and inspected.
D & E guided everyone in cooking their "dog"
 Even K cooked his own.
It was just too much fun.
 And it was yummy too.
Can you tell what is everyone's favorite thing?

Thanks Uncle D/Daddy - good job helping us cook dinner.

Camping

Camping in the backyard that is.  D got a BIG tent for Father's Day and Saturday night when Snappy and Papa were babysitting C & K we were invited over for the Camp-Out.  Ok, we weren't really going to camp but we did set up C's little tent and it took us longer than it took E&D to put up the big one!
While we worked the boys played - this pic is really just to prove that they started off with clothes on.
They had so much fun just being in that big tent.  They rolled around in sleeping bags, played with flashlights even though it was still daylight and even played soccer in there! Or was it baseball?
Connor was very serious about it.
G was ready to listen to stories.
 H had his flashlight ready.
And while no one ended up sleeping in the tent, everyone had a GREAT camping trip. (Especially Snappy and Elizabeth who were happy with going inside to the bathroom, having a kitchen for food prep and hauling all four boys into the bathtub when it was over.  Can't wait to hear about the next real camping trip, can you?
