Are We Having Fun Yet

Posted by Elizabeth.
This afternoon Emily and I decided to walk from her house to the park to feed the ducks.  The sky was blue and clear, it was a nice 75 degrees outside,  and we had a big bag of old bread.  Sounds lovely right?  This is how it played out...people wanted to ride their bike, people did not want to ride their bike, people wanted to walk beside their bike VERY slowly, people arched their backs and screamed when they were forced into the stroller and told they could no longer ride or walk or look at their bike, people stood up in strollers, threw hats out of strollers, cried loudly in strollers for more granola bars, more water, more graham crackers, less bees.  People wanted to walk, ride, pick dandelions, ride, walk, repeat.  People screamed when they heard a train whistle "train get you" only to be answered by their mother and aunt in unison "has a TRAIN ever gotten you".  One person named Holden repeatedly shouted "I MAD" ( a phrase I taught him to say rather than hitting or pushing- I thought this was a good lesson "it's okay to be mad sometimes buddy just say how you feel"- major backfire because he says it now all the time).  One person named Emily saw a snake on the path and screamed loudly causing Holden to scream and say "snake get you" only to be told by his mother "a snake will not get you Holden" and by his aunt "actually Holden a snake could get you -they are real sneaky little suckers".  Then we heard "snake sneak up" the entire ride home. Someone named Keagan had a poo explosion on the one day neither mama had a diaper in their stroller.  Luckily we did have wipes and an extra blanket.  :)  Someone named Griffin refused to wear shoes without some awesome looking red socks (little Fred). All in all we never made it to the ducks- only about half way and stopped at the baseball field mostly so the moms could sit down.  We saw two very serene mama geese with 6 little goslings floating peacefully around the pond....sigh.  We found a caterpillar who moved at a faster pace than we did.  And after what felt like ten hours of walking around Tigard we decided a much needed trip to Sonic was in order.  Hamburgers, hot dogs, milk shakes and tater tots would ease the mama pain.  Griffin dropped our peanut butter banana shake on the floor the second we walked in the house and screaming from the twins began.  Then Emily was half way through her chicken sandwich ( I was still cleaning the milkshake explosion) when she said "wow this is pretty good for a plain chicken sandwich- oh wait this is your asagio bacon avocado chicken sandwich!".  Big sigh.  Thank goodness for laughter and thank God we have each other to experience this craziness with.  Oh and got to love Connor who said "those boys" and then promptly went off to read a book in the playroom by himself when the milkshake indecent occurred.  That's how we felt C, that is how we felt.

April Showers

The boys love splashing in puddles and looking at all the signs of spring.  Holden has to find and pick every dandelion he sees and Griffin wants to talk to every kitty cat he sees.  A walk around the block is full of adventure.

Snappy's Sub

While Emily subbed last week, Snappy got to sub at the Humm household.  Not something she gets to do nearly enough these days!  Most of the time there were four boys and one Snappy and NO PICTURE time but when I was looking over photos this morning I couldn't resist posting these two to document the day.
Connor immediately set about reading the book Aunt Kate sent to him.  Love you Aunt Kate.

Mea Culpa

For anyone except Jo Jo who happens to look at this blog - mea culpa - I  am sorry!    Such wonderful memories....so with little editorial comment..here goes - two cameras, four boys, thousands of photos, millions of memories.

This next one is one of my favorites.
But eye ya yah...this is giving Snappy a headache.

What???  This is a funny shaped Easter Egg!
 There are lots of them.

Oh well, K doesn't care about those funny eggs because he has found one with a marshmallow icecream cone!
Maybe if I turn my back to them, they won't notice me eating all this candy.

No Problem K, G has you covered with the stuffed mouth award.

The big boys are finding those funny shaped eggs.

And Papa is surveying it all.

Enjoying those eggs, boys?!

 Disgusting!  Don't even ask.

 Awh Snappy...get over it!

 The bow tie was losened.

 And the clothes came off!
