I found you!

Connor and I love to play hide and seek.  He is really quite good at it.  I hide in various places then he comes searching.  I LOVE the smile on his face that says "I found you Snappy!"

I pop down to go "hide" behind the couch.
Connor comes squealing and giggling as fast as he can and then ...
we grrroooowwwwlllll!

Guilty as Charged

Yep!  I admit to dressing Connor as cute as I can on Friday!

What?  You are daring me to take a step?

King Bidgood's in the Bathtub

AND HE WON'T COME OUT!  This was a favorite book when Emily and Elizabeth were little.  I bet Connor is going to love it too because he finally got into the tub and I think he would have stayed all day!
It started with a "Come on, I know you have the water in the tub all ready. If I could just reach that door knob I would be in there!"
We really did not "Breakfast in the Tub" like King Bidgood, but Connor's face looks like breakfast is still there!

We fished, we danced, we splashed and finally at last, "the paige pulled the plug! With a glug, glug, glug!"

All the excitement from last night meant...

This was my favorite part of Friday.
Actually this little guy seems to be sick for the first time in his life.  Almost nine months and never even had a sniffle.  But today he seemed out of sorts and we did a LOT of snoozing.  I suggested to Emily when she got home that I thought he might have a fever and she headed back out to buy a thermometer - yep, fairly low (100.8) but C was definitely feeling a little punk.  Hopefully, it is just a bit of teething!

Boy, Boy and OH Boy!

Snappy Stories is going to get really busy soon...

YEP, there was too much screaming and yelling to take a clear picture but Connor is here to rejoice over his two new cousins - Baby Boy "A" and Baby Boy "B"

We simply can NOT wait to see what these three little boys and all their energy is going to do to poor old Papa and Snappy!

Love you lots Elizabeth and Dustin.  You and the little guys are in our prayers for a safe and healthy birthday.

Safety Meeting

Papa and Connor have to have their weekly safety meeting.  C shows P all the new things he can get into and P documents it for C's parents to figure out.  Safety warning of the week:

Working hard to take these little wooden plugs out.
HMMM...what's in this drawer?
Only paper products?  Maybe I could play with these plastic bags.
What's up there?  Could I climb on these drawers?
(Note from Snappy to Papa - what the heck?  his room looks like a tornado went through.  What WERE you boys doing?)
Getting faster and faster at heading up the stairs.
 Are you watching me, Papa?
 Hi!  I made it.
WHAT?!  Why did you close this??!!
I am going to figure this thing out if it kills me.
Oh well, on to the tub again.  On my tippee toes ready to fall in!
Or maybe I could move down here and bonk my head on the faucet or turn on the hot water.
DISCLAIMER:  NO BABIES WERE INJURED IN THE MAKING OF THIS WARNING.

Eat, Play, Read

Connor's daily adventure is not quite Eat, Pray Love.  It is a little more like:
EAT
PLAY
READ

Rub-A-Dub-Dub

Look at what is behind this curtain.  I tried to show Snappy and she ignored me...how about you Papa?  A bath please?
Here is what we need.
You just pour the bubble stuff in.
Don't you think standing on my own without touching the tub is worth getting what I want?
Pleeeaaassseee?

Let me tell you Sweatheart

I'm in love with you.

Let me hear you whisper that you love me too.
See the love light shining in your eyes so blue.
Let me tell you sweatheart, I'm in love with you!

Who knew?

Making our house baby proof is a grandparents responsibility, right?  So today I consolidated cleaning supplies from under sinks to above the dryer (where at least for now, Connor can't get them!)

Who knew we had two Soft Scrubs, two Comets, three window cleaners, three Liquid Golds, two Old English scratch cover polish, three silver polishes and .....count them....SEVEN brass polishes!  I don't even have any brass to polish - nor would I polish it if I did.

When I told Emily about this tonight, she asked about polishing this very old (1903) baby spoon that was given to her by our 80 year old neighbor, Dorothy, when she was born.  It had been Dorothy's baby spoon and has the complete poem of "There Was An Old Lady Who Lived In A Shoe" engraved in the bowl of the spoon.  Emily began polishing the spoon while on the phone with me and said "Is it ok that black is rubbing off the spoon?"  Oh dear, clearly I never taught her about polishing silver!

Friday Part II

Snappy's house!  Take you for a ride in my car-car!
It might be a pink and purple car but....
She also has TRUCKS at her house!
And lots of toys for me to try to figure out.

Friday Part I

Look Snappy, I can climb up the stairs on my own.

If Connor could talk, I feel certain that he would have been saying "Please, please, please can I take a bath? Look, this is my washcloth and can't you see that there are lots of cool toys in here.  Just fill it up with water!"  Sorry C, no bath today.

One of my favorite things

A boy in overalls with a truck in his hands...what could be sweeter?
