Snap,Krackle, Pop!

I LOVE THESE PICS!  These pictures are Connor looking up at Elizabeth.  Does he get confused?   Does she look like his mama?  Or does he just know this is the one other person in the world who loves him as much as his mama does?  I just know he is saying I love you Aunt Krackle... (Fred is Pop, I am Snap so doesn't that make Elizabeth Krackle?)

On the Go!

Yesterday I made a quick stop to take an Olsen hand-me-down over to Connor.  Look out, he might but be ready to be on the go all over the house...backwards that is.

Monday Morning Playtime with Snap

One determined  three month old...a box of toys....

Finally, he successfully grabbed something.....

But those toys over there look more interesting now....

GG & CDH

I couldn't resist putting up a couple of photos from yesterday that I snitched from Emily's camera today.

Connor is a lucky boy to have three great grandmas!  This one is GG Humm...

And some sweet friends like Margo who want to celebrate with him...

But it all wears a young boy out....

Holy, Holy, Holy

What a wonderful day.  Connor could not have been a better baby during his baptism.  Godparents, Elizabeth and Dustin put on an AMAZING brunch after for friends and family.

Getting dressed in the Humm family heirloom gown right before Mass begins...

This is a pretty proud mama....

Emily, Michael, Connor, Dustin and Elizabeth processed in at the beginning of Mass and then Connor promptly took this position in Elizabeth's arms....

All through liturgy, the homily, the baptism and he still looked just like this....

"WHAT?  I slept through it all! Oil and water and my hair still did not lay down?"

Four of the five generations of Humm men who have been baptized in this gown.  It was made by Connor's Great Great Great Grandmother for his Great Great Grandfather, the father of his Great Grandfather David Humm (in the picture.)  Then it was worn by his grandfather, Gregory Humm.  Then his father, Michael Humm and now Connor David Humm.  A wonderful family history of not just a gown but of a faith.  Thanks Dave and Dee for passing it down and for coming from CA this weekend!

Snappy could not be prouder of this bunch...

Pop is pretty partial to his little buddy...and yes, the oil did start to lay the hair down in front!  Thanks to Mama Jo, Connor had a cute bubble suit and shoes to wear to keep from chewing on that 100 year old gown!

The lastest entertainment system

Tomorrow is Connor's Baptism and he was certainly center stage for dinner tonight.  It is amazing how one little baby can entertain a dozen adults.  This face pretty much says what I think he was thinking "You are all crazy.  Am I stuck in this family?!"

Thanks for the wonderful dinner, Greg and Susan!

Chillin' Out ...BRRRR

So thanks to Sarah Dubost's advice, Snappy picked up a wonderful new gadget today (So fun to try all these new things!)  The ice cube stays in the net, the baby sucks on it, no one chokes!  They say it works for fruit, frozen juice and other goodies but since Connor had not had any of those things yet we stuck with ice.  Actually he has never even had water except for a little ice in the hot, hot south.

A tentative look up at me and he was all over it until his mouth got so cold her started to cry.  Then he got to nurse with some cold, cold lips...mom was happy about that!

It was a great afternoon spent shopping with Emily and our little guy.  Baptism on Sunday!

Pop, pop, snap...Snappy Playtime

I can't make it from weekend to weekend without a bit of Connor time.  Despite the extra commute, Snappy showed up for a little playtime after work.  What a way to let go of all the worries for the day to see how fascinating it can be to watch a little animal pop up out of a box.

Got your tongue...oops no that's mine.

Connor's latest discovery is his tongue - sticking it out and even holding on.

Emily granted another reprive from the no television rule to watch the Duck game.  The Beavs were playing too so he gave a nod to his Dad who was at the Beaver game by wearing an OSU onsie, but as you can see as Papa's shirt says "I LOVE MY DUCKS!"

Little boy blue

We know they still have lots of time to change but for now this really looks like "Little Boy Blue Eyes"!  What do you think?  Will they be brown by the time he is three?

Playing Jack-in-the-Box before work meant I was late, late for my 9:30 conference call.

GO DUCKS!

How am I supposed to even watch the game when this cute thing showed up?   The Ducks beat Tennessee and Connor has a new favorite toy.  Go Ducks!

"Laying down was so last week"

I was bored, bored in a conference call when I got some cute text messages on Friday.  Connor is definitely not content to lay on the floor any longer.  Yeah, for the Bumbo chair - Emily can now dry her hair with an enthralled audience.

Dinner, diapers and daddy's out!

We are going through Connor withdrawal.  Thank goodness the boy is growing and growing so Snappy had to get on that diaper sewing which was a PERFECT excuse for them to stop by on Wednesday.  That and Michael was playing golf so Emily thought she would catch dinner at the same time.  Thanks for bringing our favorite pastime by, Emily!

Alabama-Rama

OK, I have finally given up and decided that I will never catch up on this blog if I try to post all the funny stories and cute pictures.  Suffice it to say, we had a wonderful time in Alabama - we are all considering moving there!  Connor has been in six states in his 12 weeks and was an amazing travel companion.

If you want more you can check out Elizabeth's slide show...I tried to make one and it was going to be an hour long and this is a blog, not a movie.

Pools and Fools

By Sept 2nd we all made it to The Grand Hotel at Point Clear, Alabama.  Angie and Phillip you chose a fantastic place for a wedding!

Before I could explain about jelly fish in the Gulf...two crazies (M & D) had headed out.  See those bobbing heads making their way to the buoy.  They made it back but only after several stings.  Lessoned learned.

Connor was much smarter.  He got his sunshirt, suit and hat on and hit the pool.  What a water baby - he is still wondering where his daily pool time is now that we are back in OR.  The big boys even let him join their fun.  What were they talking about??

The sun set on a beautiful Alabama night...Snappy is starting to feel a little better walking with her boy on the beach.

There was much more to come....I will try to catch the rest up soon!
