D.I.W.T vs. D.I.Y.

Project Playroom: Do it with twins is proving to be more difficult than just do it yourself.  Luckily G and H come from a long line of DIYers so it was a group effort to move the twins beds back into one bedroom and then makeover the playroom.  It is so nice having the toys some what contained to one space (or at least giving the toys a place to return at the end of the day). It took longer to get to the end result with D.I.W.T but the boys loved helping paint, disassemble and reassemble furniture, organize toys, and sew curtains.  Here is how it turned out.

Dish Pan Hands

We are starting to train  them young around here.  These two spent almost an hour playing in the sink.  They would shout "wash" and
"scrub scrub".  Cheers to the next generation of men who do dishes!

Nakie Noo

When those pjs covered with milk and yogurt are stripped off during clean-up, these two get so excited.  They run and run shouting "Nakie Noo"
Really, wouldn't we all like to just run around naked?
(TMI, Snappy, TMI)

The Breakfast Club

Take a bowl of yogurt, add some cheerios and some milk and you have some happy boys.  And no, Snappy did not teach them to drink out of the bowl.  Papa?  Dustin?  Elizabeth?
At least Holden was very good at also using his napkin.

Safety Patrol

C is definitely the big boy of the crowd.  After leaving the library, he took H & G by hand and led them to the car.  Snappy prays you watch out for each other like this forever boys.

Catching Up FAST

K is just too intent on catching up with the rest of the big boys.
Maybe he can't walk but he can "Pop" with the best of them.
And if he plays his cards right, he can maneuver his big brother off the fire truck and climb aboard.
Not long before we can no longer call this big boy a baby.

Excuses

Why is Snappy just getting more and more "fluffy"?  Well, SOMEBODY had to lick all those icecream cones on the way home from the train outing to keep them from dripping!
And it is not my fault that I got a mini donuts pan and the Barefoot Contessa's newest book just happens to have a great recipe for baked donuts.
We're just trying to keep everyone happy, right Griffin?

Choo Choo

Who doesn't love trains in this group?  A Lake O library outing today with Snappy and Papa (and Elizabeth too) meant everyone got to see freight trains, passenger trains and even Thomas.  Choo Choo!

Working Man Wednesday

Snappy had a fun day, working hard with the working man.

 And the silly boys!

I Heart Tuesdays

It was a pretty uneventful Tuesday but oh how I HEART these faces.

A Night Apart

Things were all mixed up.  Mama was at the beach for the weekend.  D was in charge but then Saturday afternoon, Snappy & Papa were in charge while D got a haircut.  Then came dinner which included the Humms followed by baths and two little White boys were asleep at Snappy's by 7 pm.  Being a good daddy who knows his kiddos, D wouldn't leave since he was sure one would wake up and true to form little stuffy nose G woke up and not really a happy camper.  Snappy convinced D to head home and leave H so that meant little BugBug woke up alone at Snappy's house at 7:13 this morning.  A well rested H wanted to know "Bubba Go?"   I said "home with Dada" so he asked "Mike go?"  You see H LOVES his uncle Michael and when he fell asleep the night before, Mike was still here and where Mike went was important.  I blew it because I said "He went home with Connor" and he just looked at me and said "AND Keagie" - of course, sorry Keagie.  H was reminding me that while I might only have one at a time, I better remember everyone!
After we were clear about where everyone was, H was one happy camper to have pancakes and eggs with Snappy and Papa ALL BY HIMSELF.  If Papa would leave the room he would call "Papa!  Are you?"  And when Daddy and G showed up?  I think G thought maybe it was not fair that H got to stay with the man with the jelly beans.
And while I did not have my camera in hand quick enough to capture how cute they really were, they hugged just like long lost brothers.

Bum Bum

How much longer will they even all fit in Snappy's bathtub?
But (pun intended), is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen? Poor Keagie, he just wants to be up there with the big boys.

Duck Call

Go Ducks!  If you are at a football game but I guess it is Come Ducks! if you are in a duck blind.
Either way, Papa shows how it is done.
Then gives a lesson in how it works.
Now it is the boy's turn.

How long till they can go hunting? or to a football game.

Five Minutes Peace

This is what it looks like from behind.
And this is what it looks from the front.
But don't be misled.  it lasted exactly FIVE minutes.  C can make it though a whole 20 minute cartoon but not H & G.  Five minutes is about all you get but Snappy will take them!

Reunited and it feels so good

After almost exactly a year of sleeping in separate rooms G and H are back in the same room! They are reunited and it feels so good (or so we hope, stay tuned...).  The bedtime routine tonight was not as easy but we hope it won't take long before sleeping in the same room as "bubba" provides a lot of comfort.  H and G had fun moving the bed and we were lucky to have some last minute help from Snappy and Papa with the furniture re-arranging.
