Backing up - before the pool but after breakfast on Day 2 everyone headed out for a nice morning stroll/bikeride. Note the big smile on Emily's face...too bad it didn't stay that way.
Connor has gotten REALLY good on his Strider but with a little three year old confidence he headed down a big hill. (For those who don't know a Strider is a two wheel bike with no pedals or brakes. Little tiny kids get used to balancing on them and then move straight to two-wheelers with no training wheels.)
Well, C went a little too fast and had a big crash. Not sure who was most upset - him, his daddy or his mama. Before heading to the E.R. they decided to take C and the helmet to the Black Butte Fire Department right down the road. About twelve firefighters checked him all out and declared him one very smart little boy for wearing a helmet.
This big owie on his head is from his helmet...don't even want to think about what would have happened without it. Wear your helmets boys! There were bruises and sprains on wrists, arms, knees and his belly. But a private tour of the fire station and a bag of firestation goodies helped make C feel better. Thanks Black Butte Firemen!
And these two slept through it all.
Let's hope there are no more emergencies!
