A.A. Milne wrote poetry about it...Snappy is shocked that it is here!
Now We Are Six
Early morning family presents.
Then Mom and Snappy headed downtown to snag a spot for the parade Portland was throwing in Connor's honor (ok, the City of Roses likes to celebrate Roselandia every June but hey, this year it was on C's birthday!)
Lucky for us we were just a block away from Michael's office. Need a potty or just want a higher view? Head to Kennedy Jenks. Kind of hard to see them but the kids and some of the adults headed up there for a look see.
The kids drew lots of police attention.
What? Is that an alligator of the birthday boy's mouth? Or maybe a crocodile.
The first flag kicked off the parade? What is flag etiquette - remove the cap EVERY time the flag goes by?
EVERY single surface in this parade has to be covered in natural material...flowers, grasses, seeds, beans, rice...you name it and it is there.
Griffin, Fancy Man, got lots of attention not only for being dressed in a tie but also for holding a sign telling every musical person passing us by to please PLAY!
Llama, llama, red pajama - by this point, Snappy and Emily were feeling that early morning parade wake up and thinking that pajamas and a cozy bed might be nice.
These native Americans were definitely one of the boy's favorites.
Connor, we were so happy most of Portland knew that YOU were definitely something to celebrate!
