Kate and Curt arrived on a Thursday, July 9, and on Friday we went downtown Portland to eat from a food cart or two...or four...or was it six? I swear there are pictures and from the evening's meal at Snappy and Papa's where we had yummy grilled salmon with a sauce made with Dubost Homestead White while we drank Sangria made with Dubost Homestead Red but I can't find these pics. In the meantime, Snappy is so far behind that I think we better move on with Snappy's stories because Black Butte is coming soon!
Friday Kate and Curt left to head up to Washington to seek treasures from the sea. And when they returned on Sunday afternoon they brought so MANY delicious treasures and we were ready to celebrate their haul.
The little boys were quite interested in these creatures....clams.
Mussels.
Oysters...and while I didn't find any pictures, dungeness crabs! But standing around the grill with the oysters was the place to be.
While the adults enjoyed oyster time, the wild boys did what wild boys do...run around.
And ate their dinner.
But there were clams to cook in white wine, butter, garlic.
Connor ate his first oyster at two and loved it but wasn't willing to eat them now. But he was game to try a clam.
He did it!
Griffin had to check out the details first ...both the shells and the inside.
Then he got brave to try.
Meanwhile Charlotte stuck with veggies.
Thanks Kate and Curt - dinner was delicious and the company even better.
