Where the Wild Things Are

I really thought twice about even posting these pictures.  It was just a HOT September night -97 degrees.  Snappy stayed home from work and the kiddos came to hang out.  The wading pool was cool. It started simple enough - Keagan was the first up from nap time.

Then the rest of the crew joined in.  There were new trucks sent from Jo Jo.

We even called her to say thank you Jo Jo!
Then it was a simple spaghetti dinner.  I think maybe the wildness started with eating dinner with hats on.
At least they were using silverware, right?

Maybe something started with the mini ice cream cones for dessert.
C gave his mama a LOOK when she ate two!
Then when the mamas said "bath time", Papa said "just go rinse them off in the pool"  So this is what happened.  First there was scrubbing.
 Then there was rinsing.
Poor Griffin HATED this idea.  What happened to a nice civilized warm bath?
But then the leader of the WILD THINGS (Connor David) took off running just like a puppy out of the bath and the next thing you knew there were naked boys running everywhere squealing with laughter as the adults tried to catch them.

And G?  He went from tears to joy pretty quickly.

 Finally Emily caught one!
But C - oh no, he took off on the tractor.

It was a WILD ride but eventually all the wild things were caught, dried and dressed and sent home to bed.
What fun!
Papa is still waiting for the explanation for why C had one big toe painted red and one painted purple!  I think it is a secret marking of the WILD THINGS.

I kinda think that this blog should be retitled " Like Shoveling Fleas!" One of my favorite quotes.
BTW this was a quote from Abe Lincoln during the Civil War.
